Volleyball dramas have helped promote the sports among school girls around the world. Japanese comics and dramas have been especially influential in this respect.
The Japanese comics ‘Attacker No. 1” (1969) was released in Germany and “Attacker You!” (1984) was popular in Italy, France and Poland.
The Japanese drama, “Moero Attack”, released in Southeast Asia in the 1980s, was also a hit on television. It subsequently inspired local versions of volleyball dramas.
Although the Japanese comics and dramas were not released in the United States, the MTV volleyball movie, “All You’ve Got” (2006) may yet create more interest in volleyball as a sport.

I read from ezines article that you are the captain of your team you must be very good player 1 I like your article and my brother also like it. How tall are you ? I was told its an advantage to be tall to play volleyball ? I am short. Thanks
Wonder where can I find the comic "attacker you" . it's very easy to read your blog and also interesting. Thanks
Sorry for late response. Thanks for your kind comments.
I am 5' 7''(1.72cm) tall.
Height is important for spiking and blocking (where you hit the ball from the top of the ball)but less so for receiving and setting (where you contact the ball from its base).
In a team playing specialised positions, relatively short players usually play setter or libero positions.
Short spikers/blockers must be able to jump very high and will need to put in more effort and build up greater stamina.
